Management Assistance

LGC offers municipal members an array of services related to public employment staffing needs, from assistance with hiring related needs to guidance in the development of quality human resource documents. We also offer hands on assistance with more complex issues, including interim human resource management, labor negotiations and union grievance assistance.

Interim Human Resources Management
In the absence of a Human Resources Director, an organization may need someone temporarily to manage personnel-related functions, such as recruiting employees, supervising staff, or handling disciplinary problems. This can be done on an interim basis, until another employee is hired or assigned these duties.

Labor Negotiations and Union Grievance Assistance
Collective bargaining, managing union contracts and responding to grievances can be expensive and time consuming. Relying on a professional from outside the organization to handle these issues can be an effective way to defuse potentially contentious and adversarial relationships.

Reference and Background Checks
The performance of comprehensive reference and background checks reduces liability and helps ensure that new employees are appropriate for the job for which they are hired. The LGC Personnel Services Consultant is available to assist members with this important step in the hiring process.
