calculator imageThe New Hampshire Local Government Center provides finance information services to assist municipal officials and staff with understanding issues related to municipal finance operations. LGC produces publications, workshops and online courses covering a variety of topics impacting financial operations, including accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial reporting, fraud prevention and detection, financial policies, internal controls, property taxation, and state and federal regulations.

Working closely with the New Hampshire Government Finance Officers Association, LGC’s Government Finance Advisor develops programs and resources of interest to local finance officials to assist them in understanding and successfully performing their fiduciary responsibilities. Resources for developing financial policies and audit guidance are provided on this website.

LGC provides finance and taxation training through the fall Budget and Finance workshop, the LGC Annual Conference and various other presentations. Finance courses available through the LGC Academy include Basic Government Accounting, Financial Reporting and Accountability, Financial Account Reconciliation, Internal Controls and Fraud Prevention, and an Orientation Program for Municipal and School Treasurers.
