Ongoing Topics of Interest
Along with the “hot topics” that appear weekly during the legislative session in the NHMA Legislative Bulletin, Government Affairs staff members diligently track a number of other perennial topics of interest to cities and towns. Among these are the New Hampshire Retirement System (NHRS), the biennial state budget, state aid to cities and towns, and, most recently, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, which continues the distribution of municipal monies into 2010.

Federal Health Care Reform Law and Municipalities
The National League of Cities (NLC) will issue periodic updates outlining key provisions of the new health care reform law that will affect local governments as employers.
